I hired Josh at Anima Architects to design my home in Lynden after interviewing a half dozen other architectural firms. Besides having a good portfolio of other built homes he designed, I really enjoyed his easy-going personality and hard work ethic. Having been trained with a Master's degree in Architecture myself, I'm probably the worst kind of architecture client to have, but this didn't faze Josh. My project also required a design review by a neighborhood committee which didn't always provide the clearest feedback, but Josh was able to develop creative solutions to meet all the design requirements. I loved that he didn't bring an ego to the table and was willing to work within my limited budget. His billing was fair and transparent. I would definitely hire Josh again for my next project.

My partner and I reached out to Josh after purchasing our floating home that was in a state of disrepair. Josh visited with us and listened attentively to the pain points we had and helped make sense of the overwhelming amount of projects that had ahead of us. We were impressed with how well Josh listened to our jumbled thoughts and proposed ideas that would help us get the most out of our budget. He quickly formulated several alternative ideas on the spot, which we had not considered after months of living there and noodling about the best ways to improve the layout and overall function of our home. Josh also recommended that we use a rainscreen when we replace the cladding of the house, which I’m really glad we did. He also advised on technical details (there were limited online guides at the time) and recommended high quality products that were easy to work with and will last for decades. I highly recommend Josh- he is very bright, a great communicator and was a joy to work with.
